Eagles RB Saquon Barkley ran for 108 yards on 22 carries in Sunday's win over the Bengals. And he was close to making it an even bigger game.
Barkley had a 17-yard run that stopped just short of the goal line and set up the final of Jalen Hurts' three rushing scores.
He also delivered an 8-yard run to convert a third-and-3 early in the third quarter, only to watch Hurts score from 7 yards out on the ensuing play.
And the second quarter ended with Barkley coming up short from 3 yards out, then watching the second of two Hurts sneaks produce a TD. That followed a Barkley carry from the 4-yard line.
Here's what you should take away: Hurts will be annoying -- as expected -- for Barkley's TD total. But it's not that Barkley isn't getting opportunities.
The four 100-yard games so far nearly match the five that Barkley totaled over his final two years with the Giants. He's a strong weekly starter.
