Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins came back to earth in Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh, rushing 15 times for 44 yards.
Dobbins played 64% of the snaps and out-carried Gus Edwards by 12. Previously, the two split carries close to 50/50.
But the Pittsburgh matchup played tough as expected, and that limited holes for the former Raven. Outside of a 13-yard run, Dobbins mustered just 2.2 YPC.
Dobbins is sure to rebound in better matchups going forward. We’ll just need to keep an eye on QB Justin Herbert, who aggravated his ankle injury in the second half. There’s certainly a chance he misses Week 4 vs. Kansas City. If so, Taylor Heinicke will draw the start.
