New Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak talked up RB Ken Walker's fit in his running scheme and ability in the passing game. Kubiak called Walker a "talented player" and said, "we’re gonna ask a lot out of him."

What They're Saying

Kubiak on Walker: "He’s a talented player. I’m really excited about him in this zone scheme. But I’ve seen Ken play really good football in all schemes. I’ve seen him catch the ball out of the backfield, which I think is really important for our backs. Whatever we can do to get them touches — throwing them routes out of the backfield, throwing them screens, getting the ball in their hands. Getting the ball to our best runners, and that’s what Kenneth Walker is. And I think he’s got a really good group of teammates who complement him, especially with Zach Charbonnet. Looking forward to Kenneth Walker in this scheme, and we’re gonna ask a lot out of him."

In the same press conference, HC Mike Macdonald talked about the importance of running the ball in the red zone.

"What does produce in the red zone is the ability to run the ball, having an identity, getting the ball moving forward, keeping that ball moving forward, taking pressure off the quarterback," Macdonald said. "Klint Kubiak has shown he can do that. We’ll have an identity in the red zone and that’s important."

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Last year's Seahawks ranked top six in pass rate, neutral pass rate, and pass rate over expected. It sure sounds like the 2025 Seahawks, led by defensive-minded Macdonald, want to run more.

That's obviously good news for Walker, who missed six games last year but was very productive when healthy. He finished 12th among RBs in PPR points per game and third with a career-best 91.2 Pro Football Focus rushing grade.

We'll look for more hints about Kubiak's plans for his offense and backfield, but Walker looks like a solid value at his RB17 ADP in early best-ball drafts.
