Garrett Wilson poised for breakout season

Jets WR Garrett Wilson aims to rebound from a 2023 season that was high on volume and low on efficiency. He garnered 168 targets but tallied a poor 56.5% catch rate. Wilson also scored on only three of his 95 catches -- a 3.1% TD rate.

What They're Saying

WR coach Shawn Jefferson praised Wilson for his work at OTAs.

“This kid can be whatever he wants to be,” Jefferson said via The Athletic. “He has that it … the sky is the limit for this kid. He has that it factor, he has that dog. The thing that’s impressive is that he works like crazy. I’m probably going to have to save him from himself.”

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Wilson's totaled 178 catches, 2,155 yards, and 7 TDs over the past two seasons.

Last year, he finished outside the top 30 in PPR points per game. Yet he ranked fifth in expected PPG.

Wilson proved elite as a target-earner with a 30.2% target share -- good for fourth league-wide. His production is even more impressive considering Zach Wilson was his primary QB.

Of course, Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles’ injury disrupted this entire offense. But there’s reason to believe Wilson will reach another level this fall – assuming Rodgers stays healthy.

At least to this point in the offseason, we’ve seen no cause for concern over Rodgers’ health.

Dynasty Impact

In January, Rodgers said he’d “like” to play for the Jets beyond 2024. It’s useful info – but the possibility remains that he’ll retire in 2025. Losing Rodgers would add a layer of uncertainty to Wilson’s short-term value.

We wouldn’t be looking to looking to unload the 24-year-old, though. He certainly has youth on his side. And as we saw over his first two seasons – while learning two playbooks and multiple QBs – he brings a top-tier skill set.

Projected ADP Movement

Wilson already shows up at the 1.11 in early best ball ADP. He's going behind only seven WRs: CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Puka Nacua, and A.J. Brown.

Even if this summer turns up more buzz, it's hard to envision Wilson's ADP rising more than a spot or two.
